RSGB IOTA CONTEST 2012

My participation on the RSGB IOTA Contest 2012 from the Island of Aegina - Greece.

In today's post I will write a few words about my participation in RSGB IOTA CONTEST 2012.
I know this post is very late compared to the time that happened! Besides this, I delay to create this blog and that is the reason why I do not writing all of this months about my activities on the island of Aegina. Finally found the time and I dealt with the creation of the blog and update it almost daily.
My participation in the contest lasted twelve hours. I started the contest at 4:20 p.m. - the local time is a minus three hours from UTC - and I stopped at 4:20 a.m. and then I went to sleep.

In the video below you can get a little taste of my participation in the contest. I thank my cousin who came late at night to record those moments.

At the time that I participated in the IOTA contest I do 384 contacts - not bad - and 64 different IOTA ... that is was not very good! Anyway I did that I did but without the usage of internet and cluster services. Surely if I had internet and cluster I will had more IOTA.

The station setup was a radio ICOM IC-7400 with ICOM desktop microphone SM-6 and a G5RV antenna just six meters above the roof!

At this point I would like to thank all the stations who contacted me and I think the year 2013 I will participate again to RSGB IOTA Contest, probably with better results.
